1st clean sheet of the season!
It was an outstanding performance at the Hill Dickinson as the boys got two 2nd half goals by Pedro Neto and held on to a 2 - nil victory against the Toffees. The match was physical & contentious affair with 7 yellow totals for both clubs. A near 2nd yellow was narrowly avoided by Morgan Rogers late in the 1st half on a 50/50 challenge that could’ve been called either way, but VAR nor the referee deemed it excessive enough for a 2nd booking. Unfortunately, Emi Martinez was stretchered off after a clash of heads with Jarrad Branthwaite in the 2nd half resulting with a fractured jaw. Mike Penders made his PL debut subbing in for the injured no. 1 earning a spot in the club’s book as the youngest goalkeeper to be featured in the top division & looked fairly comfortable closing out last 15 minutes of the match. This was first time this season under Xabi Alonso the squad handled the opponent’s pressure well, stayed organized & sustained the opponent’s pressure on their home ground. Something to build on!
Up next, it’s the London derby everyone is looking forward to as Tottenham Hotspur pay a visit to Stamford Bridge. They are off to rough start, winning only one match in the 1st 7 to begin the season. Let’s add to that misery and send the them packing back to North London with their 4th loss this weekend.
Come down to the Londoner Addison this Saturday morning and kick it with the Shed End Dallas crew. We look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers,
Shed End Dallas
