Down go the Red Devils!
It was an impressive 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge against rivals Manchester United, who continue to struggle this season as they languish near the relegation zone in the 1st 9 matches of the season.
The 1st half was one to forget as neither team woke up for the early noon kickoff. Two key turnovers by the lads provided United with point blank shots at goal which, fortunately, both missed wide of the mark. Estevao started his first match of the season and showed his ability to create chances on goals, but many needed that final touch to break through in the 1st half.
2nd half was a different story, once again. Within 5 minutes of kickoff, a forced turnover from Romeo Lavia created a chance for Morgan Rogers to run down the spine of United’s midfield & defense chipping it pass Senne Lammens to make it 1-nil. United got more disorganized after allowing that goal past. Lisandro Martinez picked up two yellow cards in a span of 5 minutes, the 2nd yellow deemed a foul in the penalty box on Wesley Fofana who took an elbow to the neck and sent Martinez off to the locker room. Cole Palmer stepped up and sent a thumping shot past the keeper who did get a hand on it, but unable to stop the ball from crossing the line. The Blues took home the victory 2-0 and put themselves back in the top 4 of the Premier League table.
Up next, the lads travel north to face Sunderland, who currently sit bottom of the table. They’ve had a torrid start to the season and are looking to get their season going. Last match before the international break, lets get those three points and end this run of matches on a high!
Come down to the Londoner Addison this Sunday morning and kick it with the Shed End Dallas crew. We look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers,
Shed End Dallas
