Wild & entertaining start to the season!

Two wins & seven goals in two matches. It hasn’t been boring to say the least. Xabi Alonso has reignited the excitement for the supporters and it’s a refreshing feeling from the possession based attack yielding little to no goals from last season. Although there are flaws that have shown itself in this style of play.

Against Brighton in the 1st home match of the season, the Blues blitzed the visiting team in the 1st 30 minutes to take a 3-nil lead. Goals by Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto, and Joao Pedro scored in quick and blinding counterattack fashion left Brighton reeling & having to play catch up early. But they did strike back minutes later to make it 3-1 going into the half. In the 2nd half, Brighton stepped up the pressure against the home team and made it 3-2, and nearly tied it up before changes were made.

Cole Palmer took over as he scored his 2nd in two matches, with 15 minutes remaining to make it 4-2. Brighton did score one last time in the dying seconds of the game, ending a thrilling 4-3 match. It’s never boring paying against Brighton, that’s certain!

Now the 1st big test early into the season, Xabi’s 1st match at the Emirates against the reigning champions, Arsenal. It’ll be a tough match trying to challenge the title holders, but how the 1st two match results have ended, it’ll be a rocking affair on Sunday!
