It’s the knockout stages of the Champions League and the boys begin their quest for European glory against the current champs, Paris St. Germain. A rematch of sorts from the Club World Cup Final where the Blues single-handedly destroyed the Parisians last summer in New Jersey 3-nil to win the first ever Club World Cup tournament. It will be a different challenge as Enzo Maresca is no longer in charge and Liam Rosenior faces his ex Ligue 1 foe. All to play for in these two legs as both look to advance into the quarterfinals as they battle for European glory once again. 1st leg match will start at the Parc de Princes this week!

Arsenal FC vs Chelsea FC - Match Day #28

Another disappointing home result!

A strong start to the game last week vs Burnley with an early Joao Pedro goal minutes appearing to set the tone of what’s to come, but missed chances to double up the lead, and another red card booking comeback to bite Liam Rosenior’s team once again. A late goal conceded deep into stoppage time off a corner kick ended the game in a 1-1 draw, with points dropped once again. That’s back to back home league matches where a lead was not safe and the opponents have comeback to tie it up. It’s ever more crucial as the season draws near to a close to keep up with the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester United & Liverpool who are all fighting it out for a top four finish and qualify again for next season’s Champions League.

March is here and the lads head to North London to face Arsenal in a pivotal match up that can keep them in contention or could get them left behind by the contenders. They’ll need a strong showing for a full 90 minutes and no lapses in defense to even have a shot in this one. We shall see..

Chelsea FC vs Burnley FC - Match Day #27

A well deserved full week of rest for the Blues!

After a 4-0 thrashing of Hull City in the 4th round of the FA Cup, it was a nice break to relax and refocus for the backstretch of the season. Plenty to play for with the league and two knockout competitions still in the mix.

First up is a home match against Burnley FC. The Clarets appear destined for relegation nine points adrift in the relagation zone, but never sleep on any foes in the Premier League. A stern reminder was handed the league leaders this week what could happen if you don’t put away your opponent. Let that be a warning for this upcoming match!

Hull City AFC vs Chelsea FC - FA Cup 4th Round

Join us on Friday afternoon at the Londoner Addison as it is the 4th round of the FA Cup, and boys head up to north to face Hull City. It’s also a return for manager, Liam Rosenior in his 2nd match of this competition going up against his former club he managed just two seasons ago. The Blues are still in pretty decent form, even after the disappointing result in midweek in the Premier League against Leeds United ending in a draw. There is still a lot for the manager and squad to get right, but they’re grinding out results and staying in the fight in all competitions.

Let’s get the weekend started right with a win! We look forward to seeing you there!!!

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC vs Chelsea FC - Match Day #25

A topsy turvy week!

Two London derbies in a span of 4 days, one comeback PL victory vs West Ham & an anticlimactic knockout in the League Cup at Arsenal.

A thrilling 3-2 win last weekend vs the Hammers after a miserable start where the lads conceded two goals in the 1st half and Liam Rosenior’s questionable selection of players making several changes to the starting XI, which frankly, did not work. 2nd half changes made a world of difference as they stormed back with three goals to take victory. The mid week match at The Emirates vs Arsenal was a snoozer losing 0-1 (2-4 aggregate). Down 2-3 from the 1st leg, the manager went with a more defensive & tactical lineup to not concede any goals, but it left the squad toothless in attack - Delap as an attacking right winger? It also did not work this match, and neither team looked threatening to score all match in a cold & wet Wednesday night in North London. It’s part of the growing pains have a new manager take charge mid season, but he is getting results!

Up next, the lads travel north to Molineux, and face the worst team in the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers. With eight points scored out of 24 matches, they could possibly set the record for lowest amount of points in a season which stands at 11 with Derby County. Away matches aren’t always easy, but this is a match The Blues must win!

Back to Premier League action this weekend with another London derby at home vs West Ham United. The Hammers are starting to get results as they have won three in a row in call comps including two impressive league victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland. They are five points adrift in the relegation zone, but are slowly creeping up with 14 matches to play.

Liam Rosenior has impressed since taking charge winning 5 of 6 matches including this week’s victory at the Stadio Diego Maradona against Napoli to advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League. It will be a fight til the end of the season with eight teams within five points of 4th place in the table and places will swing wildly as they have for the Blues, going from 8th to 5th after last week’s 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace. The goal is clear, keep getting results and climb back into the top 4!

Chelsea FC vs Brentford FC - Match Day #22

It’s been ten days of no Premier League action, but the boys are back for another West London derby this time at home against Brentford. The last derby between both clubs ended in a 2-2 draw with Brentford nabbing a late stoppage time goal off a long throw in, something that has plagued the lads this season who have conceded a league leading four goals off assisted throw ins for goal.

The boys now sit 8th in the table and fell back 3 places in one round including their current opponent who jumped them after a resounding victory against Bournemouth 4-1. The league table is very tight at the moment with only six points separating 5th to 14th place. Any loss could extend a drop further down the table!

The London derby has an eerie similar feel to November’s Premier League affair as Moises Caicedo is unavailable to start as he serves a one match suspension for yellow card accumulation from this tournament, but should be available for the 2nd leg away at The Emirates.

Charlton Athletic FC vs Chelsea FC - FA Cup 3rd Round

Still stuck in neutral!

The New Year has not changed the recent run of results as they look to newly appointed manager Liam Rosenior to bring fresh new ideas to motivate the boys. He’ll have extended time to acclimate himself to the Premier League as there isn’t a match for ten days as they will switch to the other English knockout competitions that the Blues are still in.

First up, is the annual FA Cup as the lads enter in the 3rd round to face, 19th place, Charlton Athletic. The South London club has gone winless in their last four (sound familiar?) and are also looking to get back to winning once again. The FA Cup brings a David vs Goliath matchup and this will be one of many this weekend where lower table teams look to upset one of the behemoth clubs in England.

Fulham FC vs Chelsea FC - Match Day #21

Hard fought draw at the Etihad!

It was a tough start to the New Year for the Blues: the manager resigned, key players injured or suspended, and difficult trip to Manchester to face the Citizens, but the boys got it together for caretaker manager Calum McFarlane as he seized his Premier League moment and stole a point on a late Enzo Fernandez tap in to finish the match 1-1. The mood was relaxed at kickoff as there were several changes to the starting XI with Estevao, Josh Acheampong and Filip Jorgensen starting. Malo Gusto filled in a left back for an injured Marc Cucurella. The manager showed his faith in the squad having them play heavy minutes against a top 3 team in the Premier League table and they held their own for much of the match.

An unfortunate giveaway late in then 1st half led to a thumping goal from Tijjani Reijnders going near post on Jorgensen, who probably could’ve done a bit better to prevent the goal, but there was no panic from the team and McFarlane made the key adjustments in the 2nd half bringing on Andrew Santos, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap who all made contributions that help keep the match close that led to the eventual game tying goal It was a wonderful all around effort given the circumstances of this past week.

Another midweek battle against the local West London neighbors, Fulham FC at Craven Cottage should prove to be another great test of the squad’s will and determination to stay in the fight for the top 4. Let’s get that victory for Calum!!!

New Year begins without a manager!

Enzo Maresca is out as the gaffer after a tumultuous December as the lads head into their most challenging match of the season: vs Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Another tough draw added to the winless run of three league matches in a row after a tough 2-2 draw vs Bournemouth. Once again, defensive woes against long throws comeback to haunt the squad as they give up another two goals from the set pieces. The attack was more lively in the 1st half with goals from Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez. But both sides went goalless in the 2nd half after changes and ended with a point awarded for each team.

The bitter end comes after a promising summer from qualifying for the Champions League, winning the Conference League & Club World Cup, eighteen months into the job Maresca is gone. It’s been a carousel of managers at this club and seems like there is no end to that trend coming anytime soon.

The December struggle continues!

Five league matches and only five points to show for the month, the boys had dropped to 5th in the table and are in danger of falling further as only 4 points separate 5th place to 10th in the Premier League standings. A 1-2 defeat at home vs a red hot Aston Villa team who looked invisible for 2/3rds of the match only for Unai Emery to make the necessary changes to flip the game into Villa’s taking. Ollie Watkins contributed to both goals after being subbed on and changed the whole match once he took control. It was a crushing defeat as the lads were in control for much of the game, but could not execute the crucial goal scoring chances that would comeback to haunt them. It’s been a running theme for almost two seasons now, control possession and looking threatening, but unable to get the ball past the goal line when needed.

A quick turnaround as the new year approaches in the last match for 2025 - home vs Bournemouth, who have not been at their best this year, but have always giving the Blues trouble in grinding out matches as they did three weeks ago in a scoreless draw at the Vitality Stadium Three points are badly needed, but it’ll be a dog fight to earn them against the Cherries!

The boys have a crucial match this weekend against 3rd place Aston Villa as they come to Stamford Bridge to continue their match winning streak, currently at 10 in all competitions. They have some impressive results defeating Arsenal, Brighton & Manchester United in the month of December. As for the Blues, a hard fought 2-2 draw away at St. James Park keeps them in the top 4, but will need to pick up some wins along the way to stay in the fight as the top three - Arsenal, Man City, Villa, look to run off with a potential 9 point gap from the rest of the table.

Finally a win in December!

After a winless start to the match, the lads finally were able to pull together and get a much needed win at home vs Everton 2-nil. Cole Palmer was back in the starting lineup and impressed as he netted his 1st goal since September. Malo Gusto was even better as scored the 2nd goal right before the half from an impressive run and cross from Pedro Neto. A little home cooking was what boys needed and it got them back to winning once again. There is no rest as the matches don’t get any easier.

Up next is a trip to Tyneside to face Newcastle United. Eddie Howe’s team has been a throne to Enzo Maresca’s side. The last match at St. James Park ended in a 2-nil defeat. Nicolas Jackson was sent off on a red card that was deemed violent conduct. Speaking of reds, Moises Caicedo is back after his three match ban and will be available to start. December Blues!

It’s been a rocky start once again to start of winter fixtures and it feels like deja vu for Enzo Maresca. After impressive performances against Barcelona and Arsenal, the squad has looked flat since in the last three winless matches all away from Stamford Bridge including a draw last weekend at Bournemouth and a defeat in Champions League vs Atalanta.

The bottom is falling and we are not even halfway through the season. What will take to get the boys back putting in a strong effort? Disappointment at Elland Road!

Following a week of impressive outings against Barcelona & Arsenal, the Blues were outmatched against 18th place Leeds United in defeat 1-3. Enzo Maresca has yet to beat Daniel Farke in four head to head matches and fans will question the squad selection as his team heads into December playing a match every 3 to 4 days for the next 6 matches.

Needing to keep the squad fresh & fit, Maresca made four changes to the starting XI from the weekend derby against Arsenal and it proved to not work. Leeds started a very tall and physical lineup, as expected, and took it to the lads. The signs were there for a letdown early on coming off an intense derby playing 10 men would take much out of the squad. Changes in the 2nd half brought the boys back in it with a Pedro Neto goal making it 1-2, but a crucial giveaway by Tosin in his own box sealed the night in defeat. Cole Palmer made a late appearance for some minutes but looked like he needs to get his legs under him after being off two months with injury.

It doesn’t get any easier as another away match against Bournemouth this weekend. The Cherries looking to stay out of the bottom half of the table have given the lads a tough time over the past few seasons. The boys will need to dig deep in order to avoid another December slump during the season.

Leeds United FC vs Chelsea FC - Match Day #14

An intense battle with the league leaders!

This past weekend proved Enzo Maresca and the squad are capable of battling for the title this season after a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. It was bittersweet as the lads took it to the London rivals for much of the 1st half, but once again, a red card spoiled the momentum. Moises Caicedo put in a heavy challenge on Mikel Merino that led to a yellow card, but VAR stepped in to review and upgraded this into a red card offense meaning Caicedo will be suspended for the next three matches which could have a impact in a December run of matches.

Up 1st will be an away matchup against rivals, Leeds United at Elland Road. The Yorkshire team has been struggling of late losing the last 4 matches and are currently in the bottom three of the relegation zone. It will still be a tough match as it always is at Elland Road and it will be crucial to come away with three points to stay in the battle up top as the fixtures really ramp up in December - 8 in total across all comps.

It’s the highly anticipated matchup we have been looking for: London Derby vs Arsenal. The stakes are even higher as the boys chase the Gunners who are top of the table and can’t afford to drop points as the North London rivals have been poised to run away with the lead this early on. Enzo Maresca has worked wonders adjusting the squad lately to get the most out of them in attack while shoring up the defense with three consecutive clean sheets in league play.

Cole Palmer is close to returning to action and it couldn’t come at a better time with all attacking players starting to find their form. It’s a good problem to have as Estevao has settled in and is prime to breakout as the rookie sensation of the Premier League. Maresca will have to manage the squad and find minutes for everyone. 3rd in the table!

We’re a quarter of a way through the 2025-26 Premier League season, and the boys have found a bit of form right before going on break. They won six, lost one, and drew once in all comps since the start of October. At times, they have shown their immaturity with 3 red cards in the Premier League (5 in all comps), but that youth is starting to show signs of maturing and soon will have reinforcements back to the squad. Cole Palmer is close to fitness as he’s been out since September. A tricky fixture list is coming after the break, and the squad will need as many healthy players back to be ready & available.

Up first, a trip up north to Turf Moor to face Burnley FC in an early afternoon kickoff. The Clarets are back in the Premier League this year after being relegated in 2023-24 to the Championship. They tied in points atop the table with Leeds United, but the goal differential in tie breaks went against them as they ended up 2nd, but promoted nonetheless. Scott Parker has them fighting off relegation once again as they try to stay up in the Premier League.

Three Points at Tottenham!

An impressive result in North London where the lads shut down Spurs and won 1-nil on a 34th minute Joao Pedro goal from a giveaway which Moises Caicedo, the man of the match, pounced on and assisted Pedro in the 1st half. After that, the lads left Spurs toothless in attack and never surmounted any consistent threat to equalize. Thomas Frank was left to question what went wrong as The Blues extend their current win streak against Spurs to five in a row and 10 wins in the last 12 in all competitions.

The boys are back home to face Wolves who sit bottom of the league table and need to get things turned around before falling too far away in the relegation zone. Just ten days ago, it was an end to end goal scoring fest in the league cup against Wolves at Molineux ending in a 4-3 victory. Defeat to the Black Cats!

The lads were simply not good enough as they conceded a dramatic late winner from counter attack by Brian Brobbey to result in a home defeat 1-2. The Blues started very strong early on & capitalized with a Alejandro Garnacho goal to lead 1-nil. But once again, a long throw comes back to bite them in the 22nd minute as Sunderland leveled it up and went to the half tied. A frustrating 2nd half as they could not find a breakthrough before leading to the shock defeat. Enzo Maresca will have to do better and motivate the players to find a breakthrough for goal against teams who setup in a low block.

A London derby awaits as the boys head up to Tottenham to face Spurs. Thomas Frank is now manager and has them team up to 3rd in the table currently as five points separate nine clubs from 2nd to 10th.
