Exciting attack, frustrating defense!

A Joao Pedro equalizer in the 60th minute helped rescue a hear home loss after against newly promoted Hull CIty, who are off to a flying start to the season. Two goals in the 28th & 34th minute from Mohamed Belloumi, his 1st ever goals in the Premier League, off of two defensive miscues put the Tigers in front going into halftime after Morgan Rogers put the Blues ahead within the first ten minutes of kickoff, his 3rd of the season. Both teams hit the post in close moments, but could not get that winning goal as it ended in a 2-2 draw.

Plenty of work for Xabi Alonso to address the midfield situation as he rotates Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Malo Gusto & Valentin Barco to find a working pair while Moises Caicedo recovers from injury. Also questions if the back 3 can defend well enough in this setup. He may have to consider adjusting his favored 3-4-3 formation to help the center backs not get dragged so far out of position.

Up next, it’s a visit to the Gtech Community Stadium against West London rivals, Brentford FC. They currently sit one point behind in 7th and have not lost a match so far to start the season. The Bees have been a close & hard fought matchup the past few seasons in the Premier League since getting promoted back in 2021. It should be another exciting West London derby this Friday!
