Carabao Cup Final Time!

The boys will be at Wembley this weekend to face Liverpool FC in a cup final match for the 1st time under the new ownership. The last result vs Liverpool was just three weeks ago and it was ugly, the team will be looking to redeem themselves and keep it competitive as in the last previous matches prior to this one.

It’s been a good run of form for last three matches, minus the disastrous result against Wolves to start the month. The last match ended in a 1-1 draw against current PL champions Manchester City where the lads gave it their all and nearly came out victorious, but a unfortunate deflection off Trevor Chalobah from a long distance Rodri shot in the final 10 minutes of time had the squad hanging on for that point. Overall, it was a good match and the recent match day adjustments that Mauricio Pochettino implemented has been overall positive.

Let build on that momentum and bring home a cup!

It’s the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and the boys are off to the North to face Middlesbrough FC in the 1st leg of this tie. The blues progressed through into the semis against Newcastle with a late equalizer by Mykhailo Mudryk & Dorde Petrovic came up big in the penalty shootout denying Matt Ritchie getting the lads to the next round.

It’s the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup this Tuesday and the lads will face Newcastle United at the Bridge. Just a month ago, they battled Newcastle in Premier League action and were beaten 1-4 at St. James Park. Reece James was sent off in that match picking up two yellows. The blues are a bit short handed at the moment going into this quarterfinal matchup missing many key players: Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella & Robert Sanchez, but hope to have Christopher Nkunku ready to go in his first match. He was called on the bench this past weekend victory vs Sheffield United but was an unused sub. Let’s build on this recent PL win and advance on in the semifinals of the cup!

Back to the drawing board.

What felt like a promising start in last week’s PL match vs Brentford ended in such disappointment. No wins against Brentford this calendar year at home and both nil-2 losses. We switch back into League Cup action as we face an old PL foe, Blackburn Rovers, who have been stuck in the lower EFL leagues for over 10 years now. It will be good to get some of the young lads some minutes and hopefully avoid any knocks. Let’s go get that W!

The lads kickoff their 1st knock out competition in the 2nd round Carabao Cup against the Wombles of AFC Wimbledon. A brilliant victory against newly promoted Luton Town FC helped the boys get off the snide with their 1st win of the 2023-24 campaign. Let’s keep this momentum going and showcase some of the new squad players Pochettino has been working with.

It’s the 3rd round of English Carabao Cup, and the lads begin their 1st knockout competition of the season, go up against Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, and the Cityzens of Manchester City at the Etihad. Graham Potter & gang look to get back on track as they have seen a recent dip of form in the Premier League. Only two more matches remaining before all teams go on break for the World Cup.

We are back for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal and we are away to Spurs. After a decisive victory winning 2-nil at home. Antonio Conte's men will try to improve on their sluggish ways last week. We will want to control the match and score early to ensure we make it to the final.

The boys are in another cup semifinal and this time they will be facing Spurs in the first tie of the series. With a home match today and the reverse fixture 7 days later, we need to get in and win quickly as matching in January will be just as bad as December.

The boys are back in the Carabao Cup for the 4th Round match against Tottenham Hotspur. It was a hard fought match at the weekend as they came back from being down at the half 0-3 to draw West Brom 3-3. We will want to continue to work on our issues and have an impressive showing at Spurs.

It's the Carabao Cup and the lads face off against Barnsley at home in the 3rd Round match! After suffering defeat at the weekend, it's time to right the ship and set sail ahead. It will be one of those matches that can help determine what the next few weeks will look like. With Thiago Silva and Ben Chillwell set to make their debuts, it can come soon enough to add some depth to our defensive ranks.
